The Foothills Book Fest (formerly Sumiton Book Fest) was founded in 2023 by indie authors Laren Ruby and Willow Morgan with a mission to unite readers and authors each year. Held on the second Saturday of October at the Jasper Civic Center in Jasper, Alabama, the festival continues to grow, creating a vibrant space for book lovers.

Since its inception, Foothills Book Fest has flourished into a beloved independent book festival in Alabama, drawing thousands of attendees annually.
