About Our Festival

We're Central Alabama's largest book festival!

Foothills Book Fest is held every year on the second Saturday of October at the Jasper Civic Center in Jasper, Alabama. Now entering our 4th year, the festival brings together authors, readers, and families from across Alabama and beyond for a full day celebrating books, creativity, and community.

Originally founded in Sumiton, Alabama as the Sumiton Book Fest, the event quickly grew beyond its beginnings. In our third year, we moved to Jasper to expand our reach and create even more opportunities for authors and attendees to connect.

Today, Foothills Book Fest continues to grow as a welcoming, family-friendly literary event featuring authors of all genres, local vendors, panels, signings, and activities for readers of every age.
