Who We Are
Founded in 2023 by indie authors Laren Ruby and Willow Morgan, Foothills Book Fest (formerly Sumiton Book Fest) is an annual celebration of books, readers, and storytellers held each October at the Jasper Civic Center in Jasper, Alabama. What began as a small, community-driven event has quickly grown into one of Alabama’s beloved independent book festivals, welcoming hundreds of attendees each year. With its small-town charm and inclusive spirit, Foothills Book Fest brings readers of all ages together with authors from every genre, turning Jasper into a vibrant literary destination.
